Watch our favorite videos from The Burl Sessions

Inside Lexington, Kentucky, is a small club that provides an intimate setting to watch and listen to your favorite musicians. The Burl has been opened for a couple of years and has become one of the top places to watch singer songwriters pour their heart and soul on stage. They have started a special video series called “The Burl Sessions” on youtube. We went exploring and picked out some of our favorite performances.
Kelsey Waldon – “Anyhow”
Kelsey Waldon is one of those Kentucky music singer-songwriters that has made a household name of herself. We have followed Kelsey over the years and tickled pink at how her star has brightened. Her performance of “Anyhow” at the Burl is a must listen to get a glimpse of her pure Kentucky vocal talents.
Justin Wells has one of those voices that you have to attend a live show to feel the power behind the vocals when he sings. With “Little Darlin’,” Justin emphasizes his heartfelt lyrics written for his twin daughters. The Appalachian folk style of emotion is felt through with his performance.
Elizabeth Cook is another vocal powerhouse that is good to see live, as well as listen to a recording. Elizabeth’s vocals soar high into the wooden walls and ceiling in this tune that reminds one of old spiritual tunes, despite the title.
Rebecca and Megan Lovell are sisters that combined to form the band Larkin Poe. Their live performances are a must see, including this performance of “Preachin’ Blues.” Both sisters perform on instruments with ease and their vocal harmonies are a force to be reckoned with.
Shooter Jennings kicks things off with “Bound Ta Git Down” with a rowdy honky tonk blues sound that is bound to get your soul dancing. You know that Shooter is bound to have a good time when he’s up on stage!
