Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn movie to be released this fall on Lifetime

Fans of Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn will be happy to hear about a new original movie detailing their friendship. Lifetime tv channel will be airing “Patsy & Loretta,” come October 19, 2019. Megan Hilty will be playing the role of Patsy Cline, while Jessie Mueller will be performing the role of Loretta Lynn.
Megan Hilty starred on Broadway in “Wicked” and “9 to 5: The Musical,” as well as on television in NBC’s series Smash. Jessie Mueller is a Tony Award winner in 2014 for her portrayal of Carole King in “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” and has also been seen on stage in recent productions of the musicals “Carousel,” “Waitress,” and “On a Clear Day You Can See Forever.” Furthermore, “Six” actor Kyle Schmid will play Cline’s second husband, Charlie Dick, and “Rise” actor, Kyle Schmid, will portray Lynn’s husband Doolittle “Mooney” Lynn.
“Patsy & Loretta” has been filmed on location in Nashville in March and April with executive producer Neil Meron. The families of Patsy and Loretta are taking on a part in the film as being co-producers, making sure that details of the legends are correct. Patsy Cline’s daughter, Julie Fudge, and Loretta Lynn’s daughter, Patsy Lynn Russell, are working with film crews. Scenes have been filmed in the historic Ryman Auditorium.
Patsy Cline was on her way to the top when she befriended Loretta Lynn. Rather than be in competition, they became close friends and bonded over being females in a male-dominated music business in Nashville. It is well known that Patsy gave Loretta much advice on stage attire, music, and men. If you visit Loretta Lynn’s Ranch & Museum in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, you will see some of those items on display.
In 1963, Patsy Cline was killed in a plane crash. Despite the devastating loss of her friend, Loretta continued on in the industry and is today, known as the First Lady of Country Music. To this day, Loretta remains grateful to Patsy for her mentorship and above all, friendship, as the country music trailblazer that paved the way for Loretta.
Lifetime television channel is set to air Patsy & Loretta in October 2019 according to Megan Hilty’s instagram posts. Below are some sneak peak photos released with the film.
