Patsy Cline was on her way to the top when she befriended Loretta Lynn. Rather than be in competition, they became close friends and bonded over being females in a male-dominated music business in Nashville. It is well known that Patsy gave Loretta much advice on stage attire, music, and men. If you visit Loretta Lynn’s Ranch & Museum in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, you will see some of those items on display.

In 1963, Patsy Cline was killed in a plane crash. Despite the devastating loss of her friend, Loretta continued on in the industry and is today, known as the First Lady of Country Music. To this day, Loretta remains grateful to Patsy for her mentorship and above all, friendship, as the country music trailblazer that paved the way for Loretta.
